What to expect during a Reiki session
When I arrive for your mobile Reiki session, I will prepare the healing space within the comfort of your home. A clear area of at least two metres is ideal for setting up the treatment table; however, if you have mobility considerations, the session can be held while you are seated comfortably in your own chair.
Your comfort and wellbeing are at the heart of every session. Together, we’ll create an environment of calm, safety, and openness — a space where deep relaxation and energetic balance can naturally unfold. After a short conversation to set your intention, you’ll be invited to lie down or rest in your chair, allowing your body to settle and your mind to soften. Soft music will hold the space as the Reiki energy begins to flow, guiding you gently toward restoration and harmony.
I will place my hands lightly on or just above different areas of your body, gently channelling healing energy. You may feel warmth, tingling, or waves of calm energy. Or you may feel nothing at all yet healing is still happening, often beneath the surface of your awareness.
Each session is unique, guided by your body’s wisdom and your soul’s readiness to receive. Whether you fall into a meditative stillness or feel emotions begin to stir, all is welcome. Reiki works gently, yet profoundly clearing, harmonizing, and awakening the light within.
Who can benefit from Reiki?
Reiki is for anyone—no matter your background, age, or beliefs. It meets you where you are, and offers what you most need in that moment. Whether you are:
Navigating stress, anxiety, or burnout
Experiencing physical pain, illness, or fatigue
Grieving or moving through emotional heaviness
Craving deeper spiritual connection
Recovering from trauma or energetic imbalance
Preparing for or recovering from surgery
Struggling with insomnia or restlessness
Yearning for clarity and soul alignment
Seeking inner peace and emotional resilience
Or simply wishing to feel held, restored, and renewed
Reiki offers a gentle hand, a breath of stillness, and a reminder that healing is not only possible it is your birthright.
Can Reiki be used alongside conventional medicine?
Absolutely. Reiki is a complementary therapy, meaning it works alongside medical treatment not in place of it. It does not interfere with medications, procedures, or professional diagnoses. Instead, it supports the healing process by reducing stress, improving sleep, and helping the body enter a relaxed state where deep healing can naturally occur.
Many clients find that Reiki enhances recovery after surgery, supports emotional balance during illness, and eases the side effects of medication or treatments such as chemotherapy.
Is Reiki used in hospitals or by the NHS?
Yes, Reiki is increasingly recognised within the UK’s healthcare system. Some NHS trusts and private hospitals offer Reiki as part of their holistic care programs. It is used to support patients with chronic illness, anxiety, pain management, fatigue, and emotional distress.
While Reiki is not yet widely standardised within the NHS, it is valued for its calming effects and its ability to support the body’s innate healing response especially when integrated with traditional medical care.
